    @ayethereztherub …
    @ayethereztherub What exactly is your point? The public option will be voted on separate from this bill in a few months and it already has enough votes to pass via the reconciliation option. Unfortunately when you only have half of the government functioning and looking for solutions this is what happens. Why should Obama just let our problems go because the republicans don’t want to contribute? The American people are sick of being screwed by the insurance companies.

    Search Godwin’s Law for me please, you’ve just come out with a classic example.
    All of the member states of the European Union have universal healthcare with varying degrees of state control. Are we (europeans) all subject to social engineering on the scale of the Nazi’s? No. We voted people into power so that policies can be implemented so we have the right to be looked after. Are we all in fear of government? No, the government fears the people and so must look after us.

  3. @afterism20 Thank …
    @afterism20 Thank you for a good explanation of your system, but I don’t think that anyone, outside of a few politicians, really know what we are about to receive and what our system will look like. There are too many influences on the politicians for them to hear the people. Remove the corruption, and give the people their choice and voice back, and we will do just fine. Without the removal of the corruption, We The People stand no chance.

  4. AMA and ANA ( …
    AMA and ANA (DOCTORS & NURSES) support the Bill.
    4Profit Insurance companies are against the Bill.

    Why would Doctors support a Bill that taxes them, > $200,000? They have seen enough abuse by the Insurance Companies against their patients: deny treatments, changing drug formulary, drop coverage, preexisting condition exclusion, & Medicare drug GAP for Senior. Dont ever get sick or in an accident, you will be bankrupted & screwed by Insurance.

    I will go with AMA on Health Care Reform.

  5. November 5, 2009 — …
    November 5, 2009 — The American Medical Association (AMA) supports a massive healthcare reform bill in the US House of Representatives that may come to a vote this Saturday, but the voting can’t stop there, AMA President J. James Rohack, MD, said today.

  6. MEDICARE PART D …
    MEDICARE PART D DONUT HOLE. Former Congressman Billy Tauzin, REPUBLICAN-La., who steered part d through the House, retired soon after and took a $2 million a year job as president of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), the main industry lobbying group. Obama Bill will close 50 % of Medicare donut hole, 75% by 2020. Republican want 100% donut hole to continue benefits the Insurance and Pharma. Close the donut hole to help Senior.

  7. MIDDLE CLASS …
    MIDDLE CLASS AMERICAN HAVE INSURANCE, but outrageous premium, deny surgical, drug treatment based on arbitrary profit driven criteria is IMMORAL. Tumor 0.1 inch over limits no treatment for you. MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS are still one accident, one serious illness, or one chronic disease away from declaring Bankruptcy. Only if you are lucky enough to receive treatments & live long enough to file one. System is broken and failed MIDDLE CLASS that is why there is an outcry for reform.

    when i heard the audience chant OHIO , i swore it came across as HEIL- the funny thing to me will be when a lot of my fellow physicians will put up signs no longer accepting any government related health care plans- ONLY BCBS or other privates-they have every right to do it and will— so all of cheering now for this 2000 page mandate -i hope you are crying your eyes out waiting in some ER someday to get your care. this is the beginning of true socialism-enjoy your house the next 3 years.

    @Smartassawhip I …
    @Smartassawhip I like the 26 thing, given wage stagnation, skyrocketing education costs, joblessness, and other burdens for youths. But so what? There are people voting “yea” on the bill who would never allow it to pass if it foretold of any whiff of a public option. I call BS.

    Totally phony story. The woman is getting chemo therapy FOR FREE at Cleveland hospital!!!! SEE FOX news reports on this. OBAMA can’t get his facts straight period!!! Can’t trust this man!

    @ayethereztherub Do …
    @ayethereztherub Do you not realize that people will be able to stay on their parents insurance policy until the age of 26? Not only that but in a few months when the public option is added everyone will be able to afford it.

    @janz225 What is wrong with your sharing the wealth?? There are people who are struggling to make ends meet, so someone needs to help them find their way!! I hate to bring this up, but racism is still holding many Americans back!! I do wish that Obama would do more to address Black issues!!!!

  15. True healthcare …
    True healthcare reform for the states will in no way resemble the UK healthcare system because private companies will still have too much free reign. Our system is by no means perfect, but the principles of it are morally sound. The NHS and the government can drive a hard bargain with drugs companies otherwise they have no access to the UK market so this is part of the reason healthcare here is much cheaper. Also, an investors profits are not considered when healthcare policy is made.

    I’m confused to how I have worked so hard to get where I’m at and get what I have but now it’s a human right to have me pay for someone else that doesn’t want to…weird

    would somebody give me a cogent, logical, convincing argument that demanding your neighbor pays your bills is a RIGHT!!!???

  18. @afterism20 But I …
    @afterism20 But I don’t think you will breal yet. Now I come along and tell you that you have to take care of 4 more kids TOTAL 8 kids, how will you pay for that? Right. More work to feed everyone. That is what this will bring. We are a broke nation now and we are now going to support 30 million more. I hope you understand the analogy, cuz you seem pretty intelligent. It may be right for you but not for us. Fix the big business greed.

  19. @afterism20 Is your …
    @afterism20 Is your system really that good? And how much of every doller do you get to take home..50 cents on the dollar? I don’t need or want the gov’t this far into my life. This bill forces us to buy into it or go to jail. This bill takes away choice. Fix the ins companies, the fraud, the stupid lawsuits, all this drives the cost up. I don’t know you look at it like this. Say you have 2 kids and you are doing well. With no more pay to you I just added 2 more. OK you might bend here.

  20. @afterism20 The …
    @afterism20 The changes are already starting, we are now being told what to eat, how much you can weigh (and by gov’t standards Tom Cruise is OBESE). My problem is this, the more people who receive hand outs the more that the working have to pay, you said it yourself in above posts. So instaed of all tis gov’t crap why don’t you go down to the poor section and just write them a check. Same difference, you have money, they don’t, give some of yours to them. Why should anyone work?

    @afterism20 Exactly …
    @afterism20 Exactly what people over here don’t understand. They believe progress means not caring or giving to those who really need and benefit from a more equitable system, but instead they believe it will fix the system if we just extend the burden for an unhealthy population to the young, healthy, and jobless—excise taxes on high end policies got nixed cuz unions disliked it. You’re compass is perfectly intact. We, however, are in for deep if this is what passes for “progress”…

    Of all the needs …
    Of all the needs this country has, Health insurance is the least important at this time. The current President is a decorative novelty trinket the we dont need at this time.

  25. Food is a human …
    Food is a human right. There is too much profit in the food business.
    Look at the corporations that grow most of the food in this country. Look at the corporations that own the trucks that transport this food. Look at the warehouse corporations, the food processing corporations, the corporations that package the food. Not to mention the advertising corporations and the corporations that sell the food. The retail corporations. There is too much profit made from providing this human right. Food.
